McCann Birmingham

This project was right in our sweet spot!  It was a great way for us to showcase what makes Space unique, by using all of our in-house capabilities: production, post-production and visual effects.

Following our work with McCann Leeds on the Benenden Health TVC, we were asked to pitch to the team at McCann Birmingham for a new Vax product launch ad.  We were fast approaching Christmas and the deadline was fixed – it was going to be a challenge, but we put our best foot forward to win the work.

We found found out we’d been successful in our bid just over two weeks before the shoot date and hit the ground running – we had a studio set to design and build as well as casting the on-screen talent and crew.  In parallel, our visual effects team got to work on the various CGI components including ‘underworld nasties’ (as the microscopic CGI came to be known) and the product internals.

The studio shoot took place under strict COVID guidelines from the APA and we were soon in post.  We worked with our neighbours at Gas Music to create a bespoke track for the ad, as well as sound design and final mix.

The project was delivered ahead of schedule on the last working day before the Christmas break.  We received a lovely note from the agency producer:  “Just wanted to say a huge thank you the Space team for doing the most spectacular job for McCann and Vax. As always, you’ve blown me away with how slick you deal with everything and the quality of the end product”.

A great way to end 2020.
